"Divine Rays in Pure Awareness" is a study in ultra-minimal drone work. This collection of static, low end swimmers was inspired by a valley containing large sandstone boulders and shallow pools during a sunny morning thaw. The incredible magnitude of these large boulders was striking, as were the brilliant colors emerging upon the surfaces in the shimmering sunlight. An aura of pure awareness and deep oneness occurred as precipitation continued to erode and transform the shape and color of this splashy basin, as it had and will continue to do.

To capture and preserve the memory of this unique morning, photographs were taken (and are included in the download of this collection), and audio was subsequently produced to portray the life of these immense natural structures.

In order to translate the experience to audio, the tracks were designed to be primarily bass heavy, operating mostly in the 100 hz and below range. Subtle distortions and resonant comb filters bring out harmonic overtones which are frequency shifted in various increments to make harmonic chords. The audio was sourced primarily by simply feeding back two oscillators into one another and then meticulously sweeping notched filters with added odd parametric equalizer settings. By sweeping the EQs and filters, various subtle overtone changes continuously create a tonal "weathering" type effect.

This album is a Suncoast Digest exclusive and will be released to celebrate the coming Spring solstice.
